Danielle Funderburg, a resident since 2003, has served on the board of education since 2008. She and her husband Gerod, have two adult children, graduates of the Romulus Community Schools’ (RCS) district. Funderburg is a freelance graphic designer and a first generation graduate from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She understands the importance and value of education and devotes her time fostering programs in Romulus that promote attaining post-secondary credentials beyond high school, including associate and bachelor degrees and professional/technical certifications.
Serving on the leadership team for Wayne County College Access Network, WCCAN, (formerly Project A.C.E.), since 2011, she has connected our students with much needed scholarship dollars. WCCAN and RCS, closely collaborate with businesses, colleges and universities harnessing resources like our partnership with Michigan State University-College Access Counselor and services, such as FAFSA completion, for Romulus students and families.
She also serves on the executive board for Wayne County Association of School Boards, WCASB [since 2013]; Romulus High School Band Boosters [since 2010]; a member of Word of Faith International Christian Center; a former parent coordinator (Wick) and various committees throughout the district. Mrs. Funderburg has achieved her MASB Level 4, Master Board Member Award; Advocacy Skills Specialty Award; and Data Specialty Award.
